A freguesia de Rates, na Póvoa de Varzim, tem sido particularmente fustigada por incêndios florestais nos tempos recentes. Desta vez, o fogo ocorreu já perto das 18h de quarta-feira e prolongou-se até quase às 21h.

Além dos bombeiros de Póvoa de Vila do Conde, foi mobilizado para o local um helicóptero que ajudou a dominar as chamas.
